FAQ's

Product line Info

What is so special about your furniture lines?
Everything is hand-made and made-to-order, using only the highest quality materials available. In addition, a lot of the furniture is made by using dead logs and dead standing trees taken from the forest floor, recycled barn woods and hardwoods (railroad ties), and refurbished materials such as wagon wheels.

How old are the trees that are used for your furniture?
Some of the dead standing Juniper trees that are harvested from the National Forest mountainsides in the southwestern US are estimated to be over 1,000 years old.

What are the leather inlay options available for the Ghostwood series (within the Western Heritage category)?
Merlot, Cognac, and Noir.

Do your craftsmen do reproductions?
Yes, including antique reproductions such as a Victorian armoire, Civil War canons, and early American stagecoaches to name a few.

For the Ghostwood series (Western Heritage category), can I change the leg style for a piece of furniture?
Yes. The leg styles available are Western Heritage (WH), cabriole, Mesa Carlos, Ribbon, & Box. Pricing will vary.

Is the Amish furniture only offered in Oak?
No. Other choices include Cherry, Maple, Hickory, and Poplar. Pricing will vary.

Is the Farm Country furniture only offered in Antique Pine barn boards?
No. Other choices include Tiger Maple, Maple, and Cherry. Pricing may vary.

What tree types are available for your Natural Burl slab tables?
Redwood, Black Walnut, Birdseye Maple, Maple, California Buckeye, Lace Redwood, Narra wood, Myrtle, Yew, alligator Juniper, and twisted Juniper.

Will the "log" carvings crack?
Yes, some moisture is inherent in every log so some cracking or "checking" will occur as the log contracts during warm conditions. The only "log" carvings that will never crack are those that are kiln-dried - the ones that are kiln-dried are indicated as such on the product pages.

What other carvings do your wood carvers do?
People, totem poles, pets (dogs and cats), other woodland animals (fox, mountain lion, moose, etc.), marine mammals (dolphins, orca, walrus, etc.) to name several.

What is special about your European leather furniture?
The furniture is made using the finest leather in the world - from New Zealand. The leather is hand-dyed and fade resistant.

Will the bark stay on the hickory furniture?
Yes. The trees are harvested during the time of year when the sap in the wood is low so the bark will stay adhered indefinitely.

Shipping & Handling

Is shipping & handling "free of charge"?
Yes, except for the following furniture categories: Rustic Log, Hickory, Western Heritage, & African. For these lines, 3 or more items must be ordered to qualify for free shipping.

Can I get an estimate for shipping prior to placing an order for those lines that do not have "free S&H"?
Yes, but as stated above, it is only an "estimate". Until the item is made and crated, my vendors do not know for certainty how much something will weigh. For instance, even though they are creating a similar piece, the wood used for your piece could be denser (weigh more) and thus, be more expensive to ship.

Where will the furniture be delivered?
The item(s) are delivered to wherever you specify - your home, place of business, vacation home, etc. However, the items usually come via motor freight so the drivers unload the items at your curb - it is your responsibility getting the furniture inside.

What happens if the furniture arrives damaged?
Call the freight company and file a claim. If the piece is scratched, you'll be required to get a quote from a wood refinisher in your area. After the freight company approves the quote, they'll give your wood refinisher the go-ahead to repair your item(s). If the piece is damaged beyond repair (the item has a hole through it, it's broken into pieces, etc.), we'll work with our vendor to get a new piece made for you, which will be paid for and shipped at the freight company's expense.

Payment

How do we place an order?
You can do so via our secure, on-line e-commerce site. If, however, you don't feel comfortable submitting your credit card info via this on-line ordering system, there are several other options: 1) fax your credit card info to 847-438-4809, including your account #, exp date, and 3-digit security code (found above your signature); 2) phone in your credit card info to 877-653-2276; or 3) mail your credit card info or money order made payable to Red Ridge Fine Furniture to 331 Kim Trail, Lake Zurich, IL 60047.

Do you have a FlexPay program?
Yes. Any purchase of $1,000 or more can qualify for interest free financing for up to 8 months after delivery of the item(s).

What are the exceptions to your FlexPay program?
This program cannot be combined with any other sales programs, including Holiday discounts, rebate offers, sales tax offsets, etc.

How is your pricing compared to the rest of the industry?
We are, on average, 30-45% cheaper than our competition.

Return Policy

Can an order be cancelled?
Yes, as long as the production of an item(s) has not been started, you can cancel an order for a full refund.

What is your return policy?
Because we understand that it is sometimes difficult ordering from pictures alone and that once you receive an item, you may decide that it doesn't really go with your décor, we will accept returns. However, the item(s) must be returned in their original packing materials and crate. Also, you are responsible for paying for the return shipment. In addition, a 20% restocking fee will be applied and your 80% refund will only be returned to you once the item(s) are sold to another individual.

Warranty

How long is the lifetime warranty?
Until the death of the original owner(s) or 20 years, whichever is longer. The "20-year" rule applies if the furniture is transferred to an "immediate" family member upon the death of the original owner and the elapsed time from the date of purchase is less than 20 years.

Who is considered an "immediate" family member?
Parent, child, & grandchild.

Can the warranty be transferred to an "immediate" family member while the original owner is still alive?
Yes, but the warranty period would be limited to 20 years from the original date of purchase.

What is the "Major Exception" to the warranty program?
If the original owner moves or the furniture is transferred to an "immediate" family member at a different location, the item(s) must be "professionally" packed and shipped. Note: If a claim is made under the warranty program after an item has been moved, you must provide the moving/shipping company's bill of lading that indicates the item(s) were delivered in satisfactory condition.

What is not covered by the warranty program?
The items that fall within the "Other Home Furnishings" category.

Customizations

Do your vendors do custom work?
Most of them do. The exceptions include: the European furniture lines; and Lighting & Accent tables and CVC Barrel Art (Other Home Furnishings category).

Can I specify a custom color for your Farm Country and Amish furniture lines?
Yes. All you need to do is go to your local Home Depot and pick out a color. Then, let us know the manufacturer, product code, and color for your choice.

Is there a charge to have a "custom" quote?
Yes, because my vendors are extremely busy and have to take time out from their production schedule to work out these quotes, and because frequently enough, clients decide not to move forward with the order, it has become necessary to charge a fee. However, before charging you a fee, I will give you an upper limit estimate - if my vendor quotes out a higher price, the fee will be returned to you if you decide not to place the order. If my vendor's quote is below my estimate, you have 2 options: 1) apply the fee to your order; or 2) forfeit the fee. The fee is $100.

About Us

Do you have a physical store location?
No. We used to, but decided that by almost eliminating all of our overhead expenses, we could reduce our already "industry low" pricing for our clientele.

What is so special about your vendors?
There are only 2 things that are truly important to my artisans - quality and the customer. To ensure quality, they control every process of the production cycle, leaving nothing to chance - they harvest the trees, dry the wood, create the pieces, and pack the pieces for shipment.

Have you ever had trouble with one of your vendors? How did you handle the situation?
Yes. Unfortunately, I had a wood carver who started missing deadlines by weeks and his adherence to my "high quality" standard waned so after giving him a couple of chances to fix the problem to no avail, I removed him from my product mix.

What should we do if we have a complaint/suggestion about your website and/or product lines?
By all means, please let us know. We want to be the best that we can be, which is only possible if we get honest opinions from our clientele - your input means the most to us.

Do you partner with any businesses in related industries?
Yes. For log home manufacturers, home builders, interior designers, architects, etc. who refer customers to us, we will pay a 15-25% commission rate on the gross sales dollars of every referral sale - the rate will depend on company type and participation level. Please contact us for details.

Do you have a referral program?
Yes. For every friend/relative you refer that results in a sale, you will receive a $50 certificate that you can use within the next year towards a furniture purchase.
